For the last six transfer windows, Spurs supporters have been begging Mr. Daniel Levy for a proper supporting striker. We got our wish. With the emergence of Harry Kane, Spurs found their out and out scoring threat but had little depth behind him. We’ve been lucky to avoid injury (knock on wood, salt over the shoulder, etc.) but still found we needed the back up to His Majesty.
Enter Vincent Janssen.
The Dutch youngster turned 22 right before signing with Spurs and has jumped right in his few weeks with the club. Having made his Dutch international debut earlier this year and added a Eredivise golden boot to his trophy room, Janssen arrives at The Lane with a trail of supporters eagerly awaiting his debut.
Last year’s emergence of Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele saw our midfield become a brick wall and a welcomed dual threat creative push. However, once again, the supporting cast left much to the imagination. Spurs welcomed former Pochettino target and Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama to the club as the first signing of the Summer.
Wanyama poses a physical threat to any who attempt to press and will complement Dier and Dembele in what is sure to be a busy season where a day off may be more than welcome come Spring.
These two singings having Spurs supporters all over buzzing to see depth added to a young and hungry squad ready to improve on a historic 15/16 campaign.
